Recorder
The
County Recorder is elected to a four-year term. The chief
function of this office is to preserve public records.
Examples of these records are:
• Deeds
• Mortgages
• Liens
• Leases
• Army and Navy Discharges
• Bankruptcy Notices
• Articles of incorporation to do
business within the state.
The
Dubois County Recorder maintains the Records Library. Many old
documents and records are preserved and available for public use
including:
• Genealogy searches
• Cemeteries
• Original Plats
